There’s nothing like a Jewish deli. The big comfy booths. The generous portions. The warm nourishment of Matzo ball soup, giant pastrami sandwiches and towering piles of fries.
I’m actually kind of surprised there aren’t that many Jewish delis or diners in NYC, a city with the largest population of Jewish folks in the country.
In fact, Liebman's Kosher Delicatessen is the last standing Jewish deli in the Bronx. I had never been to Riverdale before, but it was a very charming, beautiful neighborhood, and not too far off from the 1 train.
The Classic Pastrami & Corned Beef sandwich is definitely in the top tier of pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had. Definitely up there with Langer’s Deli in LA and Katz’s in NYC, for comparison.

I’m really disappointed that I did not come here sooner! The Classic Pastrami & Corned Beef sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. Complimentary coleslaw and pickles served. This is the type of spot you can sit and chat at for hours and they will not bother you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU MAKE THE TREK UP HERE!!
